The short answer
You can ask Pakistani manufacturers for men's, women's and kids' jeans, denim jackets and shorts, rigid or stretch, with your own fit, wash, labels and trims. Specify the denim weight and stretch, the fit block and size chart, the wash and finishing, the trims and the packing, and send a tech pack or a reference pair. Order a pre-production sample and wash-test it before a bulk order.
What you can ask for
- Men's jeans. Straight, slim, tapered, relaxed and bootcut fits, in rigid and stretch denim.
- Women's jeans. Skinny, straight, wide-leg, high-rise and mom styles, usually in stretch denim.
- Kids' jeans. Smaller sizes with adjustable waists, which need extra attention to safety and chemicals.
- Denim jackets and shirts. Trucker jackets, denim shirts and overshirts.
- Denim shorts and skirts. Seasonal styles in lighter denim.
- Washed and distressed styles. Fashion washes, whiskering, rips and repairs.
- Private label. Your own labels, leather or woven patches, hangtags and packaging.
Ranges differ by factory. Tell us the garment and the fit and we will ask the manufacturers that make it.
Denim fabric: what to compare
| Detail | What it means | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | Denim weight is usually stated in ounces per square yard. Lighter denim suits shirts and summer, heavier denim suits rugged jeans. | The weight in ounces or GSM, and whether it suits the season you sell in. |
| Rigid or stretch | Rigid denim is 100% cotton with no stretch. Stretch denim adds elastane for comfort and fit. | The elastane percentage and how well the fabric recovers after wearing. |
| Composition | Pure cotton, cotton with elastane, or blends with polyester or other fibres. | The full fibre content in writing. |
| Selvedge | Denim woven on a narrow shuttle loom with a self-finished edge, used in premium jeans. | Whether true selvedge is needed and the mill that supplies it. |
| Colour | Indigo shades, black, grey, white and coloured denim. | A Pantone or swatch reference and the dye method. |
| Fabric source | Local mills or imported denim, which affects price and lead time. | Where the fabric comes from and how long it takes to arrive. |
Two jeans from the same denim weight can feel different, so judge the fabric sample in your hand, and ask for the exact fabric you will receive in production.

Washes and finishing
- Raw or rigid. Unwashed denim, which shrinks and fades as the wearer wears it.
- Rinse and enzyme wash. A light wash that softens the fabric and reduces shrinkage.
- Stone and sand wash. A wash that fades and softens the denim for a worn look.
- Acid and bleach effects. Faded, high-contrast finishes used in fashion jeans.
- Laser and hand finishing. Whiskers, creases and distressing applied by laser or by hand.
- Water-saving washes. Methods such as ozone and laser that use less water, which some brands prefer.
Wash is one of the biggest cost drivers and the hardest thing to match. Send a reference pair or wash swatch and ask for a wash approval sample before bulk production.
Fit, size chart and grading
| Detail | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Fit block | The pattern the supplier cuts from. Send a reference pair or a measured spec so the fit matches what you sell. |
| Size chart | Waist, hip, rise, thigh, knee, leg opening and inseam for each size, in centimetres or inches. |
| Grading | How measurements change from size to size, and how many sizes you need. |
| Rise and inseam | Low, mid or high rise and the inseam lengths you want in each style. |
| Tolerance | How far finished garments may differ from the spec, stated in writing. |
| Shrinkage | How much the jeans may shrink after the first wash, and whether the spec is the wash or the pre-wash size. |
Trims and details
- Zips and buttons. Metal or plastic, the brand or type, and the finish (such as antique brass or silver).
- Rivets and bar-tacks. Rivets at the pockets and bar-tacks at stress points, which affect durability.
- Pocket bags and linings. Pocket fabric, the weight and the printing.
- Labels and patches. Woven labels, leather or leather-look patches and size labels.
- Thread and stitching. Thread colour, stitch type and number of stitches per inch.
Quality checks before you order in bulk
- Check the fabric. Compare the production fabric with the approved swatch for weight, colour and stretch.
- Wash test. Wash the sample and measure again for shrinkage, twisting and colour change.
- Check crocking. Rub the jeans on a white cloth to see how much indigo transfers, which matters for light-coloured furniture and shoes.
- Check the fit. Try the sample on a fit model, and compare the measurements with your spec.
- Check stitching and hardware. Check seams, bar-tacks, rivets, zip action and button strength.
- Inspect before shipment. Ask for an independent inspection, including size counts and measurement checks.
Who buys jeans in bulk
- Fashion and denim brands. Selling their own fits and washes under a private label.
- Retailers and online sellers. Ordering private label jeans each season.
- Wholesalers and importers. Buying standard styles in volume.
- Workwear suppliers. Ordering rugged denim for work ranges.
Minimum order, samples and lead time
Minimum orders depend on the factory, the fabric and how custom the wash is. They are often set per style, per wash and per colour, and imported fabric may raise the minimum. Ask each supplier for a written quote that states the price per piece, the minimum order, the lead time and what is included, such as labels and packaging.
We can send your brief to several manufacturers, compare the quotes, arrange samples and book an independent inspection before shipment. You pay the supplier directly.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get jeans made with my own fit, wash and labels?
Yes. Factories cut jeans to your fit, match your wash and add your labels, patches and packaging. Send a reference pair or tech pack, the size chart and the wash reference when you ask for a quote.
What is the minimum order for jeans?
It depends on the factory, the fabric and how custom the wash is. Minimums are often set per style, wash and colour. Ask each supplier for a written quote that states the minimum.
What denim weight should I choose?
Lighter denim suits summer, shirts and women's stretch styles, and heavier denim suits rugged, premium jeans. Compare the weight stated on each quote and judge the fabric sample in your hand.
Can I order stretch and rigid denim?
Yes. Rigid denim is 100% cotton, and stretch denim contains elastane for comfort. Ask for the elastane percentage and how the fabric recovers.
Can the factory match my wash?
Often yes, but wash is the hardest detail to match. Send a reference pair or wash swatch and ask for a wash approval sample before bulk production.
What is a tech pack for jeans?
A tech pack lists the measurements, the fabric, the wash, the trims, the stitching and the labels so the factory can make exactly your style. See our clothing manufacturer guide for how to prepare one.
How do I check the quality of jeans?
Wash a sample and measure it, check crocking, try the fit on a model, and inspect the stitching and hardware. Compare the production fabric with the approved swatch.
Do you supply denim jackets and shorts?
Yes. Factories also make denim jackets, shirts, shorts and skirts. Tell us the garment, the fabric and the quantity and we will ask suppliers that make it.
Can I order a sample before a bulk order?
Yes, and we recommend it. Check the fabric, the fit, the wash and the trims before you approve production.
How do I get a quote?
Fill in the short form on this page with the jeans you need, the quantity and your destination country, and attach a tech pack or reference photos if you have them.
