Sock Manufacturers: Bulk, Custom and Private Label Orders

Socks are a high-volume product where small details of yarn, knit and fit decide whether customers reorder. Pakistani knitwear factories make socks in cotton and blends for retailers, brands, sports teams and promotional buyers overseas. This page explains the types, the yarns, the customisation options and the quality checks that make sock quotes comparable.

The short answer

You can ask Pakistani manufacturers for crew, ankle, no-show, sports, dress, terry and kids socks in cotton, polyester, nylon and blends, plain or with a knitted logo or pattern, packed and labelled for your market. Specify the style, the fibre content, the size range, the design and the packing, and order a sample pair and wash-test it before a bulk order.

What you can ask for

  • Everyday socks. Crew, ankle, quarter and no-show styles in cotton blends, in packs of pairs.
  • Sports and athletic socks. Cushioned and moisture-wicking socks for running, training and team sports.
  • Dress and business socks. Fine knit socks in solid colours and patterns.
  • Terry and thermal socks. Looped, warmer socks for work, winter and boots.
  • Kids' and baby socks. Smaller sizes with grippers on some styles, which need extra attention to safety.
  • Custom logo and pattern socks. Knitted designs and logos, called jacquard knitting, or printed designs.
  • Private label. Your own labels, sleeves, hangtags and packaging.

Ranges differ by factory. Tell us the style and the fibre and we will ask the manufacturers that make it.

Yarn and fibre: what to compare

FibreWhat it givesWhat to ask
Combed cottonA soft, breathable sock that is comfortable for everyday wear. The cotton percentage and whether the yarn is combed or carded.
PolyesterStrength, quick drying and good print and colour retention. How much is used, and whether it is a moisture-wicking yarn.
Nylon (polyamide)Durability, used in heels and toes and in many blends.Where it is placed in the sock and the blend percentage.
Spandex or elastaneStretch and shape retention so the sock stays up and keeps its shape. The percentage and how the stretch recovers after washing.
Bamboo viscose and modalA soft, smooth feel promoted for comfort. The exact fibre content and any claims. Make sure claims can be backed by the supplier.
Wool and wool blendsWarmth for winter and outdoor socks. The wool percentage and the type, because it decides how scratchy it feels.

A label that says cotton can hide a low cotton percentage. Ask for the full fibre content in writing, for example 75% cotton, 22% polyester and 3% elastane, and compare it with the sample.

Knit, size and fit

DetailWhat to ask
Needle countThe number of needles on the machine, which affects how fine and dense the knit is.
CushioningFull cushion, half cushion or flat knit, and where the terry loops sit.
Size rangeThe sizes in your market, for example by shoe size, and whether sizes are one-size-fits-most or true sizes.
Toe seamLinked, hand-linked or flat seam. A flat, smooth toe seam is more comfortable.
Top and elasticWelt type, elastic strength and whether the top grips without marking the leg.
Heel and gussetA shaped heel fits better than a tube sock, so ask whether the sock has a true heel.

Customisation and branding

  • Knitted logos and patterns. A design knitted into the sock itself, which lasts well because it cannot peel or fade.
  • Printed designs. Prints applied to the surface, useful for photographic or complex artwork on polyester.
  • Colours. Yarn colours matched to your Pantone references, with the number of colours affecting complexity.
  • Labels and sleeves. Paper sleeves, cardboard hangers, hangtags and inner labels with your brand.
  • Packing. Pairs joined together, packs of three or five, polybags, boxes and carton marking.

Send the design as a vector or high-resolution file with the number of colours you want, and ask for a knitted sample before bulk production.

Quality checks before you order in bulk

  • Check the fibre content. Compare the stated percentages with the label, and ask for a lab test if the claim matters to your customers.
  • Wash a sample. Wash and dry the pair and measure again for shrinkage, and check for pilling and fading.
  • Check the stretch. Pull the sock and check it recovers, and test the top to see that it holds without being tight.
  • Check the toe seam and heel. Feel the seam on your hand and check the shape of the heel.
  • Check the design. Compare the logo or pattern with the artwork, including colour and sharpness.
  • Inspect before shipment. Ask for an independent inspection, including pairs matching, labels and pack counts.

  • Sports clubs and teams. Ordering socks with a club logo.

Minimum order, samples and lead time

Minimum orders depend on the factory, the style and how custom the design is. They are often set per design and per colour, and a custom knitted logo usually raises the minimum. Ask each supplier for a written quote that states the price per pair, the minimum order, the lead time and what is included, such as labels and packaging.

We can send your brief to several manufacturers, compare the quotes, arrange samples and book an independent inspection before shipment. You pay the supplier directly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get socks made with my own logo or design?

Yes. Factories knit logos and patterns into the sock or print designs on it, and add your labels and packaging. Send the design file, the colours and the sizes when you ask for a quote.

What is the minimum order for socks?

It depends on the factory, the style and how custom the design is. Minimums are often set per design and colour, and custom knitted designs usually have a higher minimum. Ask each supplier for a written quote.

What fibre is best for everyday socks?

Cotton blended with polyester or nylon and a little elastane gives comfort, durability and shape. Pure cotton is soft but wears out faster and stretches out. Ask for the full fibre content in writing.

What is jacquard knitting?

Jacquard knitting makes patterns and logos by knitting different coloured yarns into the sock itself. It is more durable than printing but costs more to set up.

Can I order socks in different sizes?

Yes. Send the size range for your market, and ask whether sizes are true sizes or a one-size-fits-most range. Match them to the chart your customers use.

Can I order private label packaging?

Yes. Suppliers add sleeves, hangtags, polybags, boxes and inner labels with your brand. Send the packaging artwork and the pack make-up, for example three pairs per pack.

Can I order a sample pair first?

Yes, and we recommend it. Check the fit, the stretch, the knit and the design, and wash the sample before you approve production.

Do you supply kids' socks?

Factories make children's socks. Tell us the age range and the quantity, and ask about chemical and safety rules that apply to children's products in your market.

How do I check sock quality?

Check the fibre content, wash the sample and measure it, test the stretch and the top, feel the toe seam and compare the design with your artwork.

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the short form on this page with the socks you need, the quantity and your destination country. Our team replies within one business day. You pay suppliers directly, and any fee for our service is agreed in writing before work starts.
